Random Musings on Friendship

Friendship

Today’s writing is dedicated to all friends… new and old!

Pondering the concept of “friendship” makes me think of a baton race.
You are running alone, but all of the sudden, your partner appears, arms out ready to take the baton the for the next stretch of the race.

Friendship is an intangible concept… you know what it is, and you know when you have it,
but it’s not something concrete that you can touch, move, manipulate or even ignore.

People enter our lives at seemingly random times.
Yet, upon deeper inspection, intentional meanings materialize.

Friendship is fluid, hard to define. Dynamic by nature, and impossible to constrain.

Friends are the various actors in my play of life.
Each unique, bringing different aspects of my character out to shine on life’s stage.

Just as a tapestry is the sum of many threads woven together,
life is the tapestry of relationship experiences with others on this journey.
Even dark threads have their place, providing shadows in the tapestry —
So are the challenging individuals we encounter along the way.
The darkness provides perspective from the blinding light.
