The Secret

The Secret
I watched The Secret this weekend.  Cheesy production, for sure. But there were some rather profound universal truths. Namely:

  • Ask and you shall receive. Knock and the door will open. You gotta go after what you want!
  • Foster good feelings. If decisions are grounded in “good” feelings: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control; then you are following your spirit. In layman’s terms: follow your gut!  It’s your connection to the universe, and it will never steer you wrong.
  • Don’t live in fear. We live in a world of abundance. There is enough to go around.
  • When paths open, be smart enough to walk down them! Receive gifts when they are presented to you. Don’t make the same mistake the guy did in the great flood joke. You’ll get what you asked for!

The overall message pertains to the “Laws of Attraction.”  You are what you think.

It’s a solid reminder to monitor our thoughts, follow our feelings, and reach for the stars!

  1. I read “The Secret” and watched the production several years back and again recently. I agree that the production was a bit on the cheesy side, but the concept and wisdom about how to get what you want out of life is sound.

In case you’re interested there was a follow up film titled “The Opus” along the same vein, but not a bad exercise when you’re attempting to tune into the law of attraction. If nothing else it’s inspiring to watch some very successful people speak on it from their perspective. These people are either highly caffeinated or truly have tapped into the power of the universe. I’ll wager on the latter, it’s the more inspiring and positive thought.
